Why Urban Solace?

The term solace, means peace (or comfort) and we believe that peace can be found anywhere - but most importantly it’s cultivated from within. At Urban Solace we are excited to help you discover your inner solace - one class at a time.

What is Yoga?

Yoga is a practical philosophy and physical discipline that was developed over 5000 years ago in India. Traditionally, the practice includes pranayama (focused breathing), asana (poses and flows), and meditation. There’s a wide variety of styles available, so we encourage beginners and seasoned practitioners to explore all forms to find the best fit.

Is Yoga right for me?

Yoga is a wonderful functional fitness modality that uses body weight as resistance. At Urban Solace, we offer a variety of weekly classes suitable for all fitness levels. Asanas (poses) can be modified to increase or lessen their intensity based on the abilities of each individual.

If you’d like to learn more, join US for our monthly beginner workshops where we cover the basics of our signature Gentle Flow program in a casual format. However, as with any exercise, we encourage you to consult with your physician to ensure that yoga is appropriate for your current health status.

What can I expect in a virtual program?

Our virtual sessions are taught live, in real time (via ZOOM). We offer the same quality of instruction, but without the worry of a commute, traffic, parking, weather conditions, or a crowded studio. You receive all the benefits of an in-person session, in the comfort of your home.

After you’ve registered for a workshop, program, or series, you will receive a detailed welcome kit and access code (24 hours prior to your scheduled session) with technology information and tips to help you cultivate a peaceful environment for your practice.

Why are the classes offered in a series?

Research suggests, that it takes approximately 60 - 90 days to make or break a habit. Our weekly fitness classes are offered in a series to foster a sense of commitment to your well-being and to help improve exercise adherence. We understand that schedules may vary and a student may miss a class or two - which is why we offer make-up opportunities during each series.

How can I host an Urban Solace event?

We offer several ways to host an Urban Solace event:

  1. Virtually: We can provide your organization or group with a fun and effective wellness experience for your participants and guests - all online. Simply choose your fitness class or health education topic and let US do the rest.

  2. In-Person: We LOVE community building and fitness is a wonderful way to help bring people together. Share your ideas or we can discuss some exciting options to help meet your needs.
